Peirce Street Parking
Convenient Off Street Parking
The Friends of the Middleborough Public Library own and manage the parking lot on the corner of Peirce Street and North Main Street. For years it has provided convenient parking for families and individuals who are accessing the library. With the acquisition of the Peter H. Peirce Homestead, it will also be used for visitors to that location.

To ensure that families and seniors who use the library will find off-street parking, the Friends are committed to retaining this asset and are currently addressing constraints associated with its usage by people who are not actively utilizing the library.
Although many think that it is a public parking area owned by the town, it is private property with an expressed use. Please feel free to use it when you are a current patron using the library or when visiting the Peirce Homestead.
The parking lot was gifted to the Friends by Fernando Sardinha in 2012.
Future of the Lot
Continuing to Serve the Community!
The Friends of the Middleborough Public Library are committed to having the Peirce Street Parking lot serve patrons of the library and visitors to the Homestead. With the elimination of the funding stream that has existed to cover insurance, maintenance and repairs required to operate the lot at a safe level, the community can expect that there will be times when the lot will need to be closed to the public. For example, during storms, the cost of multiple plowings and sanding will need to be assessed to determine if it is more beneficial to close the lot until conditions improve.
