The Friends of the Middleborough Public Library look forward to writing a new chapter for the Peter H. Peirce Homestead and are committed to having the Homestead contribute to the future growth of services and programs offered by the library.  Attorney Decas’ gift to the Friends is definitely a gift to all residents of Middleborough and the surrounding communities.

The Friends are in the process of identifying a variety of funding sources to support the new use. Grant funding will be sought through the Massachusetts Development, Massachusetts Cultural Council and Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism.

The Friends will also look at “both in-kind service and fund-raising strategies’’ to address initial priorities which include clearing and landscaping sections of the property and upgrading the currently vacant studio apartment and usable commercial space.
 

The Friends know that Attorney Decas’ gift of the Peter H. Peirce Homestead to our organization allows a significant building in Middleborough to be a focal point for the future of Middleborough Public Library and Historic Downtown Middleborough.
